Macromedia FreeHand MX ReviewFreehand MX 11.0.2 very buggy - Version: 11.0.2.92, 3/21/2005 09:09AM PST

Must admit too that Freehand MX doesn't work as promised, on Mac sometimes unstabile, on PC extremely buggy, loads of errors, files with embedded images can't open after a while, colors and library's get lost, font mismatch whit only plain systemfonts used, very unstabile. Memory is running low. Performance is poor, where Illustrator runs like a rasorblade. What's wrong with this once so strong vector application? Is Macromedia getting slappy with developping Freehand? Indeed, we mis the XML or SVG output too. What's up? Where's the big update? So far, so poor...

Macromedia FreeHand MX Troubleshooting ReportFreehand MX on XP runs into major trouble, several FH crashes a day - Version: 11.0.2.92, 2/8/2005 07:51AM PST

This product seems very unstable. After Migrating from Freehand Mac OSX to Freehand MX on XP for seemless workaround with product management applications, on Mac OSX FH wasn't very stabel but workable, but on XP it runs into major trouble, several FH crashes a day. It lurks all memory and even the simpliest drawings need all the speed and memory it takes to get it work. Dispite usage of latest and most fastest CPU's available still Freehand seems to give a bad performance. Macromdeia Service doesn't give a good solution better than 'try to clean ýour computer from other applications and see if it performs any better'. Great, thx for that help! Informing other FH MX users on XP throughout the country: same errors occur everywhere on MX. Macromedia please fix the bugs before publishing the software. Freehand doesn't seem to get updated very often. When using FH MX in a professional database driven workaround it's also a major failure Macromedia Freehand MX doesn't support XML or SVG to communicate with servers and databases. XML once co-designed by Macrodia but everafter dropped to give Flash a chance to survive, isn't a good example of multiplatform multi-output professional supported software that grows together with professional production clients that believed in the software since the early beginning. Macromedia's vision on this matter seems very poor dispite the great power Freehand MX could have when managed properly, a workable bugfree free update has to get available a.s.a.p. to prevent users of making a swap to Illustrator or Canvas or VectorWorks.
