StatPlanet Map Maker - 2.1

StatPlanet Map Maker is a free program for creating interactive maps which can be published online as a Flash application (a stand-alone offline version is also included). The map can be completely customized, and can range from a simple thematic map to a more advanced interactive infographic with different graph types, multiple indicators, a time slider and animation possibilities. Supported map types are quantitative choropleth maps, qualititative/descriptive maps and proportional symbol maps. It is also possible to import your own map, or create custom map regions in the included world map. All map and interface colors can be customized. An Excel-based data editor is included through which data can be automatically imported from virtually any data source. No knowledge of Flash or programming is required. A basic familiarity with Excel is sufficient to start creating your own maps.
