Product Description:

ICQ ("I Seek You") is a user-friendly Internet program that notifies you which of your friends and associates are online and enables you to communicate with them. With ICQ, you can send messages and files, communicate directly with cellular devices on many networks, chat, exchange Web page addresses, send e-mail, keep records of your messages, and much more.

What's new in this version:

Improved User Interface. Play with textures, colors and transparency to customize ICQ's look.
Solved file transfer sporadic disconnections
Improved database stability and performance
On systems with pre 1.3 versions of CarbonLib, ICQ now displays an error message rather than exit silently.
Many bug fixes
Known problems:
- URLs are not read from browsers in Jaguar. This is due to an architectural change under Jaguar and will be fixed soon.
- Due to technical reasons, the name of the download file hasn't changed. However, it does contain the new version.

The last time this app was updated was in 2003 - that's coming up to 5 years. You cannot send/receive files with this app. About all you can do is chat. How lame is this? If you can't send or receive files like you can with the pc version, than this is a completely useless app. This developer clearly has abandoned Macs.
Total waste of time.

I cannot use the sms-service. I always get the message "The cellular network is currently unable to send your message to the recipient. Please try again later."
But this happened also months ago and no improvement so far. What am I doing wrong?

And it looks very 1999 :-(

Even a year can be an eternity when considering software. As I write this, ICQ 3.4.23 is over three years old. Since new Macs are capable of running MS Windows, I doubt there is any incentive to ever write a new version of this.
