Product Description:

CDFinder is a fast and powerful disk cataloger tool that catalogs almost anything that spins, hard disks, DVDs, CD-ROMs, ZIP disks, server volumes, or even Audio-CDs and the iPod.
Catalog data can be shared in a network for multiple users.
Together with the separate CDWinder for Windows, data can even be shared cross-platform!
Save a lot of time by importing existing Disk Recall, Disk Wizard, Iomega FindIt, Disk Tracker, Catalogue, and CatFinder catalog files.
CDFinder can handle large amounts of data
Powerful Find functions allow data mining.
CDFinder reads StuffIt, Compact Pro, ZIP, TAR, .rar, and even Apple Installer (Tome) archive files.
CDFinder reads and searches a range of MP3 tags, along with additional information about multiple types of sound files.
Multilingual, eight languages in one application: English, German, French, Italian, Swedish, Spanish, Dutch, and even Chinese.
Easy Setup Assistant helps first time users to set up CDFinder.

What's new in this version:

CDFinder now reads numerous photo meta data, such as EXIF and IPTC, and also JPG, TIFF, BMP and PICT sizes and color depths. This is not using Spotlight, so it will work even in Mac OS X 10.2 and 10.3
Of course, a number of new Find parameters are available to quickly find photos by the new meta data
In Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, CDFinder can now use Spotlight to search the local disks while a normal catalog search is in progress
To display the new meta data, CDFinder has a new Inspector window where all know information to any selected file will appear
CDFinder now requires Mac OS X 10.2 or newer. This allowed us to remove a lot of old code, and increase the speed of most operations
It is now possible to read the file and folder comments of the Mac OS X Finder. Previous versions could only read the old comments from Classic. This new features is quite slow, though, because the official way to obtain that data according to Apple is simply really slow
The User Interface of CDFinder has been improved and looks a lot better now
Copying the Found Items into the Finder is a lot faster and more efficient now, as all items of one volume are copied in a single step
When cataloging audio CD's, CDFinder will now make better use of iTunes data
CDFinder can now Find Duplicates thanks to the cool freeware tool "Incremental", written by Miguel Saro
As always, a couple of other minor issues has been solved

needs more graphic filetypes for previewing-.ai and maybye even linking to 3d modeling apps that save preview info with files(almost all do)-but fast and stable!

I must say I'm very impressed. I thought Virtual Machines weren't recognized (cf. my previous post) but it was only a matter of deactivating an option in the preferences. I therefore correct my evaluation: this app rocks by all means and it undoubtedly deserves 5 stars. Also the developper's response is terrific.
