CDFinder is a fast and powerful disk cataloger tool that catalogs almost anything that spins, hard disks, DVDs, CD-ROMs, ZIP disks, server volumes, or even Audio-CDs and the iPod.
Catalog data can be shared in a network for multiple users.
Together with the separate CDWinder for Windows, data can even be shared cross-platform!
Save a lot of time by importing existing Disk Recall, Disk Wizard, Iomega FindIt, Disk Tracker, Catalogue, and CatFinder catalog files.
CDFinder can handle large amounts of data
Powerful Find functions allow data mining.
CDFinder reads StuffIt, Compact Pro, ZIP, TAR, and even Apple Installer (Tome) archive files.
CDFinder reads and searches a range of MP3 tags, along with additional information about multiple types of sound files.
Multilingual, eight languages in one application: English, German, French, Italian, Swedish, Spanish, Dutch, and even Chinese.
Easy Setup Assistant helps first time users to set up CDFinder.

What's new in this version:

CDFinder can now read the contents of the ZIP archive files that are created with Panther
The contextual menu module "CDFinder CMM" is now also available in a Mac OS X version. This enables you to catalogue disk directly from the Finder, or start Find operations based on names or types of selected files.
Some problems with the automatic database update function were fixed. This could cause folders to appear twice for a short while.
The "Batch Create" feature now supports Multi-Session disks in Panther.
As usual, a couple of other minor issues has been solved.

needs more graphic filetypes for previewing-.ai and maybye even linking to 3d modeling apps that save preview info with files(almost all do)-but fast and stable!

I must say I'm very impressed. I thought Virtual Machines weren't recognized (cf. my previous post) but it was only a matter of deactivating an option in the preferences. I therefore correct my evaluation: this app rocks by all means and it undoubtedly deserves 5 stars. Also the developper's response is terrific.
