Product Description:

LookupManager is a graphical front-end to the "lookupd" program, the central directory services information broker built into every Mac OS X system. With LookupManager you can reconfigure your system not only to use NetInfo, but also to support
  • NIS (Network Information Services),
  • X.500-style databases organized as described in RFC 2307 and accessed by the LDA-protocol (LDAP), and
  • Unix /etc files.
Because the lookup configuration can be shared by different computers in your network, LookupManager can be used to distribute a configuration to an unlimited number of workstations.

  • Mac OS X 10.2

LookupManager ReviewThis tool Is… - Version: 1.04, 10/30/2001 09:50AM PST

trodemaster
a must have for advanced netinfo setups. If you want to use host entries in netinfo to resolve host names, this is a necessary tool. System 10.1 changed the lookup order putting dns before netinfo entries. Lookup manager can change it back.
