Product Description:

Shimo started in 2006 as a replacement for the really obtrusive and uncomfortable graphical user interface that comes with Cisco's VPN client. Thus it was "only" an interface, but a very successful one! With Shimo2 comes a completely new way of using VPN connections on your beloved Mac. It supports many different types of secure connections and makes it even more comfortable to configure and use them...

Shimo ReviewDoesn't handle Back To My Mac - Version: 2.0.6, 10/21/2008 07:29PM PST

I had heard good things around the net,but......The product seems to claim to handle Back To My Mac status, but doesn't. I was first hoping that both services could remain active with my Cisco connection and the Cisco client. That failing, I turned my attention, and my dollars, to Shimo who claimed to "handle" the connection. So far there is no difference no matter how I set preferences, I am not trying to run both clients at once, and I have sent email to the closest thing to a support address I can find (there's nothing about support on their web site) with no response now for three days.
Color me disappointed for having spent $20 plus just to have the same # of clicks in my menubar as the Cisco client had in my dock. I'm very used to the Mac OS client and would truly love a one click solution to both of these issues in my menubar. Keep trying, and step up the response time. Convince me, I've paid for it!
