Still a compulsory splash screen on startup. Still frequent and mysterious disappearance of the view preferences.
Another pet peeve: Accidentally clicking outside an image boundary can lose all of the selection frames. Grossly annoying if I am near the end of a four-figure catalog.
Sorry I came back for a quick inspection to see if they have improved what was a good product before they bought it. Nope.

The most glaring problem of Expression is the catalog size is still limited to 1.8GB or 128,000 files, despite more than a year of complaints from users. The support boards are full of comments pleading with MS to remedy this problem to no avail.
Here's a response post from head of MS Media Expression Support:
"The Expression Media development team is painfully aware that the limits imposed by the current file format are insufficient, particularly in this day of larger and larger media files. Dev is committed to improving on this in the future." - September 23, 2008
I would highly recommend checking the Microsoft Expression Media support boards to see if the problem has been addressed before purchasing this product.

They did the exact same thing with Connectix Virtual PC for Mac. MicroScum.
