Product Description:

CtoFB3 is a FutureBASIC^3 Application that translates "C-Language" functions into FutureBASIC^3 LOCAL FNs requiring minimal editing (when CtoFB3 reaches final release status).

CtoFB3 is still in the developmental stage and has been released as an aid for translating C code. Most common C statements and operators are currently handled. Code fragments and entire programs can be translated, including those containing multiple nested include statements.

This Application allows FutureBasic^3 programmers who have, or have access to, substantial C Libraries, the ability to integrate that C code into their FutureBASIC Applications much more easily.

What's new in this version:

Improved parsing of return statements at end of functions, removed unneeded exit fn statements
Help tags added to preference window
Support for input files with long filenames
Open dialog restricted to files with .c, .h, .r, or .cp extensions
SInt8, SInt16, SInt32, UInt8, UInt16, UInt32 recognized as native FB3 types (for Toolbox conversions)
CALL_NOT_IN_CARBON translates to "CarbonLib = 0" (for Toolbox conversions)

Great for Converting C code to FutureBASIC - Version: 0.7.9b, 8/6/2004 09:49PM PST

CtoFB3 is a very useful tool for converting C code to FutureBASIC. This comes in very handy when converting Apples C Header files to FutureBASIC.

Previously, all of this would have had to been done by hand. Using CtoFB3 will save you hours in conversion. There will still be some things that will have to be converted manually, but this tool will take care of a large chunk of it for you.

I'm looking forward to the CtoFB4 version.
