OmniGraffle CommentaryNeeded a few quick diagrams - Version: 5.2, 9/13/2009 09:31PM PST

LargeCup
I recently purchased Adobe CS4 and have slowly been working through exercises to learn Photoshop and InDesign. Then this past week I needed a few simple diagrams. I thought it would be a good way to learn Illustrator.

After several hours of learning about and getting frustrated with Illustrator, I downloaded OmniGraffle and produced four perfect charts and diagrams in an hour with color shading and complexity I'd have had to spend a long time to learn in Illustrator.

So much about OmniGraffle is intuitive. What little was not intuitive to me, I could find quickly in the user's guide. In fact, I found some things that I wasn't thinking about, enhancing the final products. And those things that at first were not intuitive, became so quite easily.

I couldn't ask for more.

I just started using the beta on my MBP running 10.4.9 and it all of sudden it caused a kernel panic while I was working for a while. Luckily I didn't lose anything and no damage was done. I just downgraded to the stable release.

A fabulous tool, that can be used in many different ways..
..Drag a folder in and it'll generate a hierarchical plan, clickable maps, etc.

Has anyone else noticed that the OmniPlan mini manual was made with OmniGraffle ??

There you go - defininitely a more potent tool than it first appears !!
