love with Compositor. I'm a wannabe-artist with no talent -- can't even draw a straight line. I'm also somewhat of a computer-idiot, but found Compositor (v 1.95) a few weeks after getting connected to the 'net (Oct. 2001) for the very first time (the only computer I had owned before that was the antique Apple IIc.) Compositor was incredibly simple to use, to create, to express buried cravings. I wrote a great Version-tracker review back then, but it went "poof." This upgrade is even better -- downloaded it for the first time last night, because I was terrified it might replace (wipe out) the original. Not so. This developer is beyond-bright; both versions will exist side-by-side, so there is no risk of loosing the original. Support is beyond-fantastic, though I'm not sure I ever needed it -- except I dreamed of a "cartoonize" filter, never mentioned it, and -- presto! -- it's in the new version. Kids love to be made to look like cartoons....or granite statues. naaah, I don't know the guy. I'd not his dad/son/neighbor; he didn't slip me $10 under the table. I just love this program. Compositor is simplicty in an age where complicity appears to be the order of the day. No one NEEDS a "Compositor for Dummies" or "Compositor -- The Missing Manual." By the way, trying to post this was a nightmare. Couldn't use my email because it was already registered, though it wouldn't allow me to post over a year ago? Do we need a "VersionTracker for Dummies" or "VersionTracker -- The Missing Manual" ???
This program ROCKS!!!!…

Not only is it one of the most useful graphics apps for artistic stuff, it is also a great tool for creating your own pseudo-rotoscoping filters for video work. This program is proof to the nay-sayers(like Micro$oft) that shareware and open-source efforts can often outdo the "big dogs." Despite the fact that Classic mode is not officially supported, I find that it works flawlessly in Classic mode on my 733 G4, and even runs faster than in native OS9! Very cool. Makes it a non-issue to wait for the OSX version. :)

Photoshop results but so much easier to use! Cheaper too! ;-)
