Lasso Studio for GoLive Commentarymark_ringenoldus , GoLive… - Version: 6.0.1, 3/5/2003 05:30PM PST

[6] DOESN'T cost ANY more then Dreamweaver. I looked at both products when I was looking for a site creation package. The trial version of GoLive WAS a fully functional package (time limited with [maybe] no save feature) where DreamWeaver didn't even allow me to preview what I had just created (GoLive DID). If either package costs too much for you, use SimpleText and make ALL of the html (or xhtml) code that way. Considering how you CAN evaluate Lasso Studio (for free) for 30 days cost doesn't even enter into the picture UNLESS you decide you really WANT the package. I guess some people are just NOT happy unless they have something to complain about. BTW, I'm downloading the evaluation version even now... to see if it's something I can use for my own site's content management.

Lasso Studio for GoLive ReviewAs expected, too… - Version: 6.0, 12/19/2002 02:52PM PST

Why Not
expensive for a glossary window. Most of the same things can be done by using noedit tags and putting them in the user tags portion of the tool window. Mapping the directory to the server is also not that big of deal. I guess I might like the solution more if Lasso was not so expensive in the first place. MySQL and PHP can do quite a bit for the average site, and it comes with OS X Server. Though not running under X, MGI is free and is easier to use.

Lasso Studio for GoLive ReviewWell if you… - Version: 6.0, 12/19/2002 02:27PM PST

phreak
can afford to spend the time working around all the GoLive bugs then Lasso for GoLive would be good news. Just what GoLive needs another pallete. I hate to give you the impression I don't like GoLive. This isn't true at all, version 4 of the program was really good. And GoLive 6 isn't all that bad either accept for the user interface and the bugs. Lasso would have been smart to stick with Dreamweaver.
