Product Description:

A VNC client maintains a window which displays the current contents of the screen of a remote computer. The client sends mouse and keyboard actions to the server, and updates its window as the server's display changes.

This performs a similar function to commercial software such as Timbuktu: but VNCThing can connect to servers on any supported platform, is free, and full source code is available.

VNCThing allows you to control remote machines as if you were sitting in front of them - even if they're on the other side of the world (since client and server can be located anywhere on the Internet).

What's new in this version:

Added Zlib encoding.
Added Zlib-Hextile encoding.
Added bookmarks menu to hold contents of bookmarks folder.
Improved performance, now disable Nagle�s algorithm.
Improved performance, network code now uses no-copy receives.
Improved performance, network code now talks directly to OT rather than through PP.
Improved performance, now request an update immediately after receiving a response.
Improved performance of Raw, RRE, and CoRRE decoders.
Fixed crash on Mac OS X.
Fixed UI clipping bugs on Mac OS X.
Fixed bug when drawing 1x1 rectangles in 8bpp double-buffered mode.
Full screen mode now hides the menu bar (and on Mac OS X, the Dock).
Command key now sent correctly to Mac servers.
Command-Escape now leaves full screen mode, even if local command keys are turned off.
Shrink-to-fit now never produces windows larger than the client screen.
Sending Ctrl-Alt-Del now works correctly.
Periodic update now happens every 10 seconds rather than 2.
Local clipboard now sent to server on resume event.
