TelnetLauncher CommentaryCan't locate developer - Version: 2.8.11, 10/22/2006 10:43AM PST

SDTech
This software looks good, but we have a few questions regarding relative minor issues.

Unfortunately, the developer seems no where to be found. Three emails over the past month have gone unanswered.

I guess I have to look for another solution.

TelnetLauncher Commentarypidog software seems to have ceased to exist - Version: 2.8.11, 9/7/2006 07:32AM PST

plaintiger
vt couldn't fetch the software because firefox couldn't connect to the server, so i tried going straight to pidog.com and saw a page apparently belonging to pidog's former hosting company and saying:

This is the Pleskā„¢ default page

If you see this page it means:

1) hosting for this domain is not configured
or

2) there's no such domain registered in Plesk.

For more information please contact Administrator.

reviews of telnetlauncher i've seen while trying to find it have said there are much better apps available and recommended SSH Tunnel Manager and iTerm.

PiDog software has a winner with this one! I've been using it for years and being a Unix admin that connects to many machines during the day, this is an indispensible tool in my daily work. The release time between the recent 10.3.7 and the 2.8.4 patch was only days which really helps for those of us who are forgetful and upgrade without remembering that TL needs to be updated with each version patch.

TelnetLauncher Usage Tip10.3.3 fixes the password issue - Version: 2.7.2, 3/16/2004 04:26PM PST

Just an FYI, 10.3.3 fixes the problem in Terminal.app that was preventing TelnetLauncher from saving the passwords. I just tried it on a few servers and it worked fine. However, I'm unable to get to the author's website and the telnetlauncher.com website has apparently been unused by the author since the 17th of February when it was transfered to it's current owner. I hope that the author is still around.

I have noticed that Version 2.2.2 launches Terminal App in 10.3. I have had no problems.

TelnetLauncher ReviewLatest version works with Panther...mostly. - Version: 2.6.10, 12/10/2003 08:30PM PST

I've been using 2.6.10 for a couple days now, and it seems to work OK with panther. The only issue I can see at this point is that the auto login feature doesn't seem to work with the latest version of Terminall.app. Overall, I'm pretty happy with TelnetLauncher so far - happy enough to register it. Hopefuly, the auto login issue will get worked out. What I *really* would like to see is support of SSH's RSA/DSA authentication - that would be brilliant.

piDog Software
If you are running OSX 10.3 and updated to the latest version of TelnetLauncher, you must quit Terminal before launching sessions in order for Terminal to recognize the command.

TelnetLauncher ReviewNo auto-launch anymore?!? - Version: 2.6.7, 11/25/2003 10:21AM PST

I was using this prior to 10.3 and it worked excellent. I have over 30 devices I need to get into all the time. I downloaded the newest version, but it still won't work with 10.3. The application is worthless to me now. I have copy and paste each address I want into a telnet window. Big deal. You don't need this program for that. I wasted my registration fee!
