Product Description:

MacInstall is a simple yet powerful Mac software installation system. Anyone who needs to place items into 58 pre-defined locations of the Mac OS System folder or onto a user's hard disk can do so very easily and at minimal cost using MacInstall.

What's new in this version:

  • Improved MacInstall Compression to more reliably install various kinds of files onto the target computer
  • Fixed a possible crash relating to the Java VM Action

  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher for MacInstall Editor recommended

The early version of this software was unreliable. However, I went ahead and purchased it hoping that it would improve. When I tried to upgrade from an earlier version I purchased to the new version, the author would not respond to my e-mails. This was despite the fact that I sent five e-mails to the e-mail address at his web site. I was hoping that the new version would be better. Poor e-mail support and poor reliability makes this software one to stay away from.

need an installer, you can get a free developer licence for VISE, or just install the free devtools and use package maker. This is one of those rare products that does not deserve the honor to even be called crap. It is far, far worse.

X installer program beats this hands-down in terms of both features and ease-of-use. It's much more reliable at getting the files where they're meant to go, and is absolutely free.
