Product Description:

Like the PC versions of Napster, the Mac application allows users to search and browse for MP3 music files.  It rapidly gathers results for users and sorts them by name, size and sound quality, with both search fields and results combined in a single window.  Napster for the Mac also offers a Hot List for users to communicate with online friends, allowing them to know when their friends are online, enabling them to browse their shared files, and chat privately with personal messages.   Napster for the Mac was developed by the same team that created Macster, an   independent product purchased by Napster, Inc. earlier this year.  Napster for the Mac is the first "official" version of the software for Mac users.  Existing Macster users who upgrade to Napster for the Mac can quickly get started by registering with their Macster username and password.

What's new in this version:

All previous versions of Napster have been disabled. We're making this change as part of our ongoing effort to comply with the court's orders. It will take some time for our new filtering technology to accurately identify files; so initially, the number of files available will drop. As more users upgrade to the new versions and more files are identified, more music will become available through Napster. When you download the new application and log on, you're strengthening the Napster Community.

little detail: Napster v 1.0b1 will work with Mapigator, which finds and connects to OpenNap servers...
