Absynth CommentaryPowerful software synthesizer - Version: 4.0.1, 1/1/2007 08:26AM PST

Absynth is a bit more expensive than Zebra, but after viewing the demo video, it seems to have some really powerful features -- I like the patch browser, and the macro modes seem great for sequencing or live performance.

For the previous poster: this is a software synthesizer -- it turns your computer into a MIDI (or Audio-Unit) synthesizer, suitable for live performance or recording.

... the product description doesn't actually even tell what it is that the product does. Not that it really matters to me, or maybe to anyone else, either. But once in a while here on VT I run into this kind of thing, and it makes me wonder how people decide to write their product descriptions.

Absynth Usage TipPlease note: there really ARE two 2.0.5 updates now available. - Version: 2.0.5.001, 5/27/2004 04:33PM PST

Yes, there was a 2.0.5 update for Absynth released on 5/12/04. However, there's now a follow-up, called the "Absynth 2.0.5 AU Hotfix", which was released on 5/21/04. I use Absynth and had really terrible buffer clicks when running 2.0.5. The AU Hotfix has solved my problems. FYI, here's the ReadMe:

Recommended to all ABSYNTH Mac OS X users. This version requires ABSYNTH 2.05. This update is recommended for all Absynth 2 users who use the Audio Units interface. It fixes Buffer bug in Absynth 2.05
