After downloading the file, put it into your Mac OS X Public Beta home directory (/Users/your-login-name), boot Mac OS X, open the Terminal application and type the commands cd; tar xvzf rp-pppoe-2.5-MacOSXPB.tar.gz to unpack the software. Then follow the instructions in the document README.Mac-OS-X-Public-Beta (located in the folder /Users/your-login-name/rp-pppoe-2.5 created by the unpacking). Do not install this software with the final version of Mac OS X that has PPPoE support built in. "
