Product Description:

Auction Hunter is a native application for OS X, built to make your life easier on eBay. It allows you to monitor auctions that you are interested in bidding on, or that you would like to simply observe and store for future reference.

Main features of Auction Hunter are:

  • Automatic bidding and sniping tools, that let you set your snipe amount for an item you like, so that Auction Hunter will place the bid with eBay until just a few seconds before the auction ends. This allows you to not attract attention to the auction, causing price to go up.
  • Searching tools, that automatically let you to save and run the same searches on eBay, storing the results in user defined folders. You can also specify a time interval to be used to periodically run the searches.
  • Thanks to a built-in powerful database, Auction Hunter allows you to store thousands of auction listings (with thumbnails too) so you can search through all saved items and what they sold for, even for past auctions no longer available on eBay. You can also save the full content of the item's web page, and open it later with Safari.
  • Auction Hunter periodically updates the information about the auctions you are interested in, and let you know at first sight what is going on, due to the use of colors and bold typeface.
  • Support for all international eBay sites is provided, and it also automatically updates all the categories when you launch the application.

What's new in this version:

  • Enabled version checking for intermediate builds too: a preference has been added to let you choose if the application should check for final releases only or beta versions too.
  • The multi-category searches didn't work anymore because of the usual eBay web site changes, so we had to change our approach. This version of Auction Hunter performs a separate search for each category, then joins the results as they were coming from a single search. Although this works as expected, there is a side effect: since each category is being searched separately, you may get back a number of results exceeding the maximum results number defined in preferences. Because of this a warning message will be displayed when you add a category to remind you of this (it can be disabled, of course).
  • In previous versions category update may fail because of some eBay web site changes; now it should work as expected again.
  • A wrong categories popup menu was shown when editing a previously saved search.
  • Fixed the "cookies problem" error that occurred, sometimes, during eBay user login.

Auction Hunter CommentaryAuctions not showing up - Version: 1.2.6, 9/18/2009 10:30AM PST

After a hiatus I tried Auction Hunter again. Maybe it's eBay changing their programming interface all the time but out of 35 auctions I added to my watch list only 8 show up in Auction Hunter after synchronizing twice- and their current bids are wrong.

It's a nice program if it works - however it needs much more maintenance than it is currently getting ...
