Coppertop
"You need to select the installation directory for Quake 3 (not any directory inside of it -- the installation directory itself)."
I pick the folder but all I get is the option to either "Quit" or "Open' when picking folder. "Select" doesn't even show up.
Also, I cannot find the Quake III Point release for this 1.3.2 and it seems as if Fileplanet is the only location which is currently a dead link at this time. Anybody else have a location where to find this Point Release file?

[a]ferretNOTE: The Point Release should be installed before the game itself is installed.
To install Quake III Arena, do the following:
1) Using a program like StuffIt Expander, decompress the point release. A package file will be placed on the desktop.
2) Double-click the package file - it will open the installer for the Point Release.
3) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the point release installation.
4) Open the Quake III Arena CD.
5) Open the Quake3 folder.
6) Open the BaseQ3 folder.
7) Copy the PAK0.PK3 file from the CD to the BaseQ3 folder on your hard drive.
The game is now installed.
That is from the acclaim site. I never had a problem with Q3 on my mac. I'm running a Dual 1ghz G4 with an ATI 9800pro (retail) and a M-Audio Revolution 7.1 sound card. 10.3.7

Selfinflicted Dramai never gotit running properly. in classic the keyboard and mouse input would drop constandly rendering the game completely locked and in OS X the game keeps crashing when i get a blasted by a plasma rifle...
a real shame since its a good game
for the record:
G4 Mirrored Drive door 1250 Dual CPU with the Standart ATI Rage 9000 mac edition.
Oh, and the 1152x870 resolution does not work. it will just revert to its default 640x400 when i try to set it... very anoying since my apple vision runs optimal in 1152x870...
get your sh*t together ID software... Quake 3 Arena is a dog when it comes to pregraming. ESPECIALLY when you compare it to the original Unreal Tournament. too bad there no OS X support with that classic. (better the the 2003 IMO)

Tried this before...
1. install Quake 3 (that I bought) for OS9 (install through Classic)
2. Install Arena Gold (again, through Classic)
3. Install this patch
4. Launch and all I get is a darn white screen!
Aaaaaargggh!!!
Any ideas?
