Product Description:

Fire is an open source, multiplatform instant messenger client based on freely available libraries for each "service." Currently Fire handles AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Jabber, Yahoo! Pager, and IRC communciation.

Handle problems fetching the passport upon login. (mr)
Fixed problems with the Invalid Password dialog. (mr)
Check for write errors in key places. Write errors are checked for whenever other logic is performed after the write. Connection::write will shut down the connection on write error, which previously caused assertion errors when a write was followed by an addCallback. (mr)
Fixed File Transfer corruption by closing the file-handles used in file transfers when we are done with them.(mr)
Fixed crash when closing a group chat.(mr)
Prevented problems sending invalid font information. (mr)
Ensure that a message gets delivered if the conversation is closed before the message has been transmitted. (mr)
Two fixes related to Passport authentication. One adjusts the timeout window for the authentication cookie, and the other displays a more useful error message in the event that no cookie is retrieved. (mr)
Refactor libmsn's HTTPS authentication stage to delegate the work back to Fire rather than using libcurl internally. This allows a much cleaner implementation in terms of CFNetwork. Also allows one binary to work on 10.2 through 10.4. (mr)

I just upgraded to Leopard (10.5.1) last night, and Fire doesn't work for me anymore. It freezes when it tries to connect to my account and then closes. Anyone else having this problem?

The lead developer puts it bluntly on the front page at http://www.fireim.org/

We are saddened to announce that there will be no future versions of Fire. There are several reasons for this end, but the most notable is the loss of developers. Fire's development had dwindled to few developers who do not wish to continue the project alone. In addition, another major contributing factor is the fact that all but one of Fire's IM libraries is no longer in active development.

..but please don't tell that Audium is better!
Where the infos profiles? The groups? (the console?) The off-line buddies?
Fire is slim, not obtrusive, elegant even if not 'nice while Audium is redundant, baroque, bloated like a vulgar microshit messenger.
There is not a better Fire, even if needed (audio/video/file transfer is not up to date for near all chats) and.. the ridiculous is that windoz users envy us for it!
When we will lose definitively Fire.. it will be a sad day!
