Addresses an issue in which domain name lookups could fail if the DNS server responded with a very large reply packet.
Improves the way that LDAPv3 connections time out when idle.
Addresses a potential data loss issue that could occur when copying certain files to an SMB volume.
Addresses issues with Internet Sharing when certain types of DSL or cable modem connections are shared.
Improves security by resolving an issue in which a guest could gain read access to the contents of a shared Drop Box folder remotely.
The Internet preference pane can now store .Mac passwords that are up to 32 characters long.
Addresses an issue in which some Apple internal modems could not establish or maintain a connection to certain Scandinavian Internet service providers

this is the only download since 10.1.1 which has been problematic and for me it's a complete disaster. According to my 'about this mac' I am running 10.4.11. However, it isn't listed in the software update 'installed updates'. So it's kind of installed but not installed! Safari doesn't work at all, USB ports crash. I can't re-install as software update says I'm up to date and if I try a manual attempt - the disk image won't mount. Without Safari the dreaded Explorer becomes the default browser - opening for every link - and this can't be changed without Safari. Spotlight is now very slow and I suspect the machine is heading for a crash. Solution: you've guessed it - clean install. Nice one.

Bug: Apple Mail, dragging a selection of mail attachments - Version: 10.4.11, 11/28/2007 08:15AM PST

Hello,

I am having a problem with Apple Mail since I have applied the 10.4.11 Combo Updater.

I have selected several photos I have received in an email. I am dragging the selection to the desired folder on my desktop.

The photos will not be copied to that location. Instead, a text clipping appears in my destination folder with the following filename:

yyyyyyy

If I am dragging a single photo to my destination folder, the file will be copied accordingly.

If I am dragging the entire selection, the text clipping appears.

As far as I can remember, I never had such an issue under Mac OS X 10.4.10

Safari 3.0 but no Bookmarks? - Version: 10.4.11, 11/25/2007 06:07PM PST

I have tried everything with the new Combo Updater to 10.4.11 for PPC but I can't get my Safari 3.0 to keep any Bookmarks. I eliminated AcidSearch 0.62 and Safari Extender 1.6.6--neither of which works yet with 10.4.11 and Safari 3.0 for PPC--but even when I import my Bookmarks from a copy on my external hard drive, even when I replace the username/Library/Safari/bookmarks.plst and the username/Library/preferences/com.apple.Safari.plst, even when I try the stand-alone download for the updater instead of the Software Update method, none of it seems to make any difference. I can't keep any Bookmarks. Does anybody out there have any other suggestions?
