What's new in this version:

The 10.0.4 Combo Update includes all the improvements from the previous software updates for Mac OS X; and delivers a significant number of improvements for USB devices including additional external device support for iTunes CD burning, improved battery life for many PowerBook G3 systems, and Classic compatibility improvements. This update also provides the latest security updates to OpenSSH and 'sudo' services and includes support for Apple's newest digital flat-panel, the 17-inch Apple Studio Display.

11.4.11 nightmare - Version: 10.4.11, 12/6/2007 10:52AM PST

this is the only download since 10.1.1 which has been problematic and for me it's a complete disaster. According to my 'about this mac' I am running 10.4.11. However, it isn't listed in the software update 'installed updates'. So it's kind of installed but not installed! Safari doesn't work at all, USB ports crash. I can't re-install as software update says I'm up to date and if I try a manual attempt - the disk image won't mount. Without Safari the dreaded Explorer becomes the default browser - opening for every link - and this can't be changed without Safari. Spotlight is now very slow and I suspect the machine is heading for a crash. Solution: you've guessed it - clean install. Nice one.

Bug: Apple Mail, dragging a selection of mail attachments - Version: 10.4.11, 11/28/2007 08:15AM PST

Hello,

I am having a problem with Apple Mail since I have applied the 10.4.11 Combo Updater.

I have selected several photos I have received in an email. I am dragging the selection to the desired folder on my desktop.

The photos will not be copied to that location. Instead, a text clipping appears in my destination folder with the following filename:

yyyyyyy

If I am dragging a single photo to my destination folder, the file will be copied accordingly.

If I am dragging the entire selection, the text clipping appears.

As far as I can remember, I never had such an issue under Mac OS X 10.4.10

Safari 3.0 but no Bookmarks? - Version: 10.4.11, 11/25/2007 06:07PM PST

I have tried everything with the new Combo Updater to 10.4.11 for PPC but I can't get my Safari 3.0 to keep any Bookmarks. I eliminated AcidSearch 0.62 and Safari Extender 1.6.6--neither of which works yet with 10.4.11 and Safari 3.0 for PPC--but even when I import my Bookmarks from a copy on my external hard drive, even when I replace the username/Library/Safari/bookmarks.plst and the username/Library/preferences/com.apple.Safari.plst, even when I try the stand-alone download for the updater instead of the Software Update method, none of it seems to make any difference. I can't keep any Bookmarks. Does anybody out there have any other suggestions?
