Product Description:

Yank is an all-purpose uninstaller for Mac OS X. Yank can uninstall almost any software and all its support files, no matter how it was installed. The result is a leaner, faster, safer Macintosh.

Use Yank to install new software. Yank will monitor your hard drive and save a complete installation log into a Yank file. Later, when you want to remove the software, just open the Yank file and click "Uninstall".

For software you installed without Yank, log onto the free Yank File Sharing Service. Search for the Yank file you need, download it, and Yank that program!

Yank does much more than simply search your hard drive and try to guess which files are related. Yank uses Matterform's new Sonar Technology to monitor file changes in real-time during installations. This lets Yank know for sure exactly which files got installed and exactly which files should get uninstalled. Yank can uninstall almost any software, safely and completely, no matter how it was originally installed.

What's new in this version:

Compatible with Leopard and Snow Leopard.
New Auto-Launch feature launches Yank automatically when you start installing software on your Mac.

Yank CommentaryVery Disappointed - Version: 2.0, 7/21/2009 08:39AM PST

I purchased Yank 1.0 when it was first released. Yank was supposed to observe what files that were being installed on your computer when you ran an application installer/package so at a later date if you decided to remove the application Yank would delete all associated files for that said application. However, you needed to launch Yank and select the Application installer so Yank could observe where and what files the application installer were installing. Sounds great in theory but unfortunately Yank failed to work most of the time and often would freeze. Because of numerous problems I had with Yank I stopped using it. Haven't heard anything about it since today, when I saw that the developer released version 2.0. I don't know if Yank 2.0 works but I am disappointed that they are charging for this upgrade considering how poorly version 1.0 worked.

I wasted my money the first purchase I am not going to do it again!

Yank is still not compatible with Leopard, end of January, 2009.

from the web site: "Matterform’s Yank product is not yet compatible with Mac OS X 10.5, also called Leopard."
