Product Description:

MacStat is an LCD display unit that continuously updates itself with variou stats from Mac OS X. These stats include how many processes are running, how much RAM is in use/free, overall CPU load, how long the computer has been running and how much hard disk space is available/used up. MacStat is bus powered and consumes few resources. Perfect for "headless" Mac servers or Xserve monitoring.

What's new in this version:

  • The macstatd command-line utility now accepts configuration parameters that override any saved preferences. This is useful for starting and configuring the software remotely.
  • The macstatd now reports which port it is using along with the device name for easier remote configuration when first started.
  • A fix for macstatd always selecting the first serial port available no matter wich port was set in the preferences was made.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1

Additional Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.1 or higher
  • USB-to-Serial adapter if your Mac lacks a serial port.
  • You MUST have a MacStat LCD display unit. MacStat software will NOT work with any third-party LCD display screens nor will the MacStat LCD screen work with third-party driver software (that I am aware of). If you want to support a MacStat LCD screen on an alternative OS ask me for configuration and communication settings.

Mr. Pi
Sounds like a really cool idea for people running server farms, or even just one server. I would definitley reccommend it to anyone who runs a server.

...really that stupid that they would rate a software based on whether it's compatible with their machine?? I'm giving this five stars because it's a cool idea (the hardware/software integration) and also to offset the idiots posting here. "Man, this sucks... I just downloaded software for a COMPUTER and I just have a TYPEWRITER... man, this software must suck then!" Ha. Lame LUSERS!
