Product Description:

AppTracker is a Macintosh utility that watches and records which applications are being used, and for how long each is used. Apptracker creates a log file accurate to the minute, recording the time an application has been open and actually been running in the foreground. AppTracker will allow the user to examine specific times frames, creating a snapshot of any given time period. For example; if you are using PhotoShop to retouch or create an image, AppTracker will tell you in Hours and Minutes how long PhotoShop has been the active process during that day. It will also record what time intervals within that day the application was active (in the foreground actually being used as opposed to open).AppTracker allows the user to export log summaries which can then be imported into any spreadsheet application.

AppTracker ReviewSoftware no longer at Developer page - Version: 3.0.1, 4/14/2006 03:32PM PST

I looked all over the Developer page, and this software is gone. Someone in Apple Discussions needed something like this, and eventually this software was found as a good alternative, and is free:

AppTracker ReviewWorks great with a database application - Version: 3.0.1, 7/23/2005 10:05AM PST

I'm shocked that this app hasn't found more users. It does an excellent, clean, and conflict-free job of collecting application use completely in the background. It reports this data back between any two user defined dates/times. It does this in 3 crucial ways: by Bar Graph for excellent casual use, in Subtotals as expected, and as Raw Data (2 minute samples) for import into any database for custom summaries. It works fine in 10.4.1. I got quick tech help by email. Loses two feature stars for lack of Document name info in Raw Data. Does anyone know of a better app for this? Maybe Mac users are too intimidated by databases. Try Helix RADE (OS 9, classic), it's easy.

AppTracker CommentaryToo expensive by 5x - Version: 3.0.1, 12/16/2004 03:52PM PST

At $5 it would be a handy tool. At $25 it isn't worth bothering with.
