no problems at all. What I need is a program that will let me re-encode all of my MP3's to a different bitrate and then send it via SHOUTcast. Audion does this for $30, but Winamp for Windows does it for free! Is there a free OS X solution out there?

worked flawlessly on my machine. This is one of the great things about OS X -- the unix side opens doors for software companies that hadn't considered the Mac before. Also, as far as the source for audio goes, Audion from http://panic.com/ is another OS X-native option.
