mpegToaster Reviewit's free, so hardly worth complaining about, but ... - Version: 2.0b1, 10/26/2004 08:29AM PST

jeffffffff
I don't get it, I guess. I went looking for something as simple to use as WinAmp. If I want to review a folder full of songs without adding them to the library and all the overhead and headache that iTunes offers, I tend to do it on my XP box because it's incredibly easy to do with WinAmp. Drap the folder to an empty playlist and there ya go.

so I found this. it would not let me drop a folder on it. I had to open the folder and select all before dragging & dropping. As soon as I dropped them in, it started playing immediately, which scared the b'jeezis out of me cuz the volume was up really really high, as it turns out.

Anyway... I can't seek or scan ahead or back. I can't jump ahead or back in the same track. I cannot see the remaining track time. I cannot see how long the track is. The show info drawer does not ever seem to work. It can read my itunes playlists and that's nice, I guess. But I'll just go into iTunes if I want to do that.. I just don't get it. Sorry.

I'll say this much for it: it's beta. It's freeware. It's very lightweight, very small, very fast and plays songs nicely without making an overly complicated mess like itunes tends to. So... kudos. good work so far. I hope the author can add some basic features.
