Product Description:

MBC4 produces barcodes as EPS files for use in XPress, Photoshop, FreeHand and Illustrator as well as many other graphics packages.

It has all of the ease-of-use, accuracy and and safety of MBC3 and the previous versions of MacBarcoda, but now has new barcode types, new features and greater support for the special features of EAN/UCC 128 barcodes.

Creating barcodes with MBC4 is quick and easy.

All of the controls are at hand for controlling size, color and special barcode characteristics. As with previous versions you have precise control over bar code quality with our unique bar width adjustment features and the back-up of free quality-checking, advice and support from the people who invented PostScript barcode creation way back in 1988.

As bar codes are becoming more complex, we've designed MBC4 to be future-proof.

The easiest & most functional barcode solution for Mac. - Version: 4.2.1f9, 5/29/2009 01:34PM PST

I've been using MBC3 & MBC4 for over 6 years now and I haven't seen a better solution for barcode creation on the Mac. I've use Barcode Pro (which still isn't Universal Binary) and several others with unimpressive results compared to MBC4. Not only is this Universal Binary and covers every major barcode standard, but it also comes with excellent tech support. Any time I've called with a problem I get a live person, without a wait, and it doesn't cost a thing.
PROS: Ease of use, functionality, advanced barcode adjustment, multi-format barcode output & built-in understanding of codes so you don't screw them up!
CONS: A little pricey when purchased new & fonts are sometimes generated incorrectly in EPS codes (specifically when using non-standard barcode fonts).

Bottom line - if you want consistent quality barcodes that print and scan well, multiple export formats and software that is reliable, get MBC4!

Note: The GS1 Databar standard is not yet implemented in MBC4 but I heard from their support that it will be soon.
