Emagic Logic Audio Pro ReviewLogic rocks! - Version: 6.3.2, 11/21/2003 08:54PM PST

I used Studio Vision Pro and then switched to Cubase for a couple years but had headaches out the wazoo. When Apple bought Logic I switched over to Logic and my only regret is not starting off with Logic at the start! I love its effiency once you learn what you are doing. Making music with Cubase took a lot more effort and there a lot of things that I just couldn't even do. Learning Logic took some effort but now that I know it making music takes less effort than with Cubase or SVP. Logic is super efficient with its myriad ways to do things. I can move quicker. I finally feel like I can do whatever I can dream up!

Emagic Logic Audio Pro CommentaryLogic vs Performer - Version: 6.3.2, 11/20/2003 04:10PM PST

I used Digital Performer for about 3 years before I switched to Logic. I mostly switched to be compatible with my music-making partners, but I wouldn't even consider switching back now. Digital Performer is definitely a lot more intuitive and has a lot friendlier interface than Logic, but there are certain Logic niceties that just really work well once you get used to them (two biggies for me are the handling of workspaces and audio and midi loops). Overall, I would highly recommend either one as you'll have a great time making music in either and making music is what it's all about. Now that Apple owns Logic, I suspect the interface oddities will be ironed out in time, too.
