Downloaded OSX and X86 version ZIP files for Mac.

Neither contained and executable file when unzipped. Trashed, left comment, went my merry way. Too bad.

Harmony Assistant CommentaryMacIntel Upgrade Fee - Version: 9.2.2, 8/23/2006 08:54PM PST

Harmony Assistant and Melody Assistant are both fantastic programs. I've used them for years, and purchased Melody Assistant licences for a number of cash-flow limited friends. A couple of years ago I even purchased Harmony Assistant again, because of the immense value of the program.

The "old" version of Harmony Assistant will run fine on a MacIntel machine using Rosetta, so if you are genuinely so strapped for cash, or just a whiny tightwad who doesn't want to part with $15, you can continue to use the program.

If it were me I'd be charging at least 50% of full price, not 20%. As it is, I'm not sure how the bro's manage to make all this pay. Low cost, high volume, perhaps?

In any case, I'd purchase a full license gladly, and $15 is NOTHING, a couple of latte's on the way to work.

Free upgrades for life until they tire of getting no money and call Intel Macs a new "platform" like Windows and get you to cough up another 15

Harmony Assistant ReviewWhat all shareware should strive for. - Version: 9.1.1, 5/10/2005 09:23AM PST

These two French brothers have keep an every improving product on the market for years, are quick to respond to problems and feature requests, and are always seeking to improve things 'under the hood.' I originally purchased a copy to help my son with his HS music classes. I've even been able to write some songs - and I can't play an instrument or read music.

Harmony Assistant ReviewSimply put excellent features and price - Version: 9.0.2, 8/7/2004 01:00AM PST

Excellent program which blows the competition away. Great range of features and extremely low price when compared to the alternative music scoring packages. Documentation is good and there are many extras on the website. Recommended

Harmony Assistant ReviewA composer and arrangers dream - Version: 8.4.4, 2/17/2004 01:31AM PST

Harmony Assistant is easy to use. Once you set up the tools you need most, you can move them around for easy use. The interface is simple and allows the custom setup. I started using Harmony Assistant a year ago. The interface is intuitive and only a bare minimum of the great manual is needed. Harmony Assistant allowed me to write and arrange 22 bebop tunes and burn to 3 CDs in 11 months without touching any instrument. This looks like a good teaching tool too. The only software close to Harmony Assistant costs $$$. This utility for music production should have been a part of Garage Band instead of the crippled virtual keyboard in GB. Harmony Assistant exports AIFF files that are easy to drag and drop into GB. The printouts of the scores are great. Some of the instrument sounds of Gold database such as the sax can be improved by adding a slight reverb with the sound effects of Harmony Assistant. The authors are very responsive and helpful for tech support. Eric
