Product Description:

Discus is the labeling software product from Magic Mouse Productions. It comes with a huge art library, and produces beautiful labels quickly and easily. It can create labels for CD and DVD's, 8-cm mini-cd's, business card cd's, tray backs, tray inserts and folding booklets, VHS face and spines, audiocassette labels, and calling/business cards. It can switch into any of 15 languages. It has over 1000 backgrounds included. It supports all direct to CD printers such as the Epson R200/R300/R800.

What's new in this version:

Added support for various new paper templates, such as UAL/Veriad papers, Herma, and a few others. This is a minor release and unless you need these papers, it is not important to update your program file.

Discus Reviewgreat product - Version: 4.24, 7/21/2009 04:58PM PST

Boy I wish all produts were this simple; just a few files on the hard drive, doesn't touch the system or install patches or plug-ins or any other crud, and starts up in less than a second. I have Photoshop CS4 but when I want to whip out a label on my clever little DYMO DiscPainter, I can have a label printed by the time Photoshop has finished loading its 1000 plug-ins etc. Why do products have to evolve into 5000 files spread across 500 folders and are so delicate that the slightest re-arrange means a reinstall and then upgrading endlessly. I love the way Discus does its labeling job fast and easy and is ultimately very simple. I don't label every day and never read manuals so a product has to be simple for my taste and usage patterns.

I give it my highest recommendation.

Discus CommentaryThe Best as far as I'm concerned - Version: 4.23, 11/19/2008 07:23AM PST

I have tried most disc labeling programs out there and Discus is by far the best. I have been using Discus since it first came out and have never had a problem. Even though the interface is not exactly Mac like it is still intuitive and does the job extremely well.

Discus Commentary4.21 quits unexpectedly OS 10.4.11 - Version: 4.21, 5/23/2008 12:24PM PST

Have used Discus since version 2. When I dragged the 4.21 update to Applications, it overwrote 4.20 then wouldn't open. Could not get 4.20 back.
After several download/install attempts (from different sources) I had to reinstall 4.12 from the disk.
The ART file is in the same folder. Tech support has responded but after a couple of attempts to fix the problem the comment was "Yes, that's strange. Log says it seems to be in a loop of some kind." Have not heard from them in two weeks. Anyone have a workaround?
