Discus Commentary4.21 quits unexpectedly OS 10.4.11 - Version: 4.21, 5/23/2008 12:24PM PST

Have used Discus since version 2. When I dragged the 4.21 update to Applications, it overwrote 4.20 then wouldn't open. Could not get 4.20 back.
After several download/install attempts (from different sources) I had to reinstall 4.12 from the disk.
The ART file is in the same folder. Tech support has responded but after a couple of attempts to fix the problem the comment was "Yes, that's strange. Log says it seems to be in a loop of some kind." Have not heard from them in two weeks. Anyone have a workaround?

I have used Discus for several years to print on my inkjet printable CDs and DVDs. Although the interface is somewhat "un Mac-like" and it takes a little fiddling around to figure out how to use it, the results that it produces are excellent. Unlike others, I am happy to pay the upgrade fees for a program like this.

I have also had excellent experience with their tech support.

....a phrase that is beautifully apt for those good folks at MightyMouse. It means "Buyer beware!!!" I'm not buying ANYTHING from this outfit without first receiving an ironclad guarantee that the product is not going to make my previous files obsolete.

Any of you who upgraded to Discus 3 will remember having paid good money for a product that should never have made it out of Beta. It took SEVERAL MONTHS for MightyMouse to wring the problems out and they did this on the money they obtained from suckers like me who trustingly upgraded to a product that wasn't ready to be put on the market.

In the same vein, they have now sent me an offer for Discus 4 upgrade that says: "If you are planning to get a DiscPainter, please send an email to support@magicmouse.com with the subject COUPON and we will email you back instructions on whatever special deal we arrange with DYMO." In other words, they have NO special deal and hope that if enough of their clients write in, they could PERHAPS cut one with DYMO. To me, it's just another example of their somewhat twisted thinking.

So....CAVEAT EMPTOR. I'm not buying anything from these guys without a hard and fast guarantee that what I'm buying is not (again) a pig in a poke.

Oh yeah, these guys are really smart too. They sent me an email that says: "If this email address for you is incorrect, please send your new email to sales@magicmouse.com with the subject new email, and be sure to include your older email address so we can figure out which one to update." If my email was wrong, how would I have received their message??? Duh!!!

I sincerely hope someone at Mighty Mouse reads this review. I don't even have the energy or desire to correspond with them on the subject.
