if you can't afford to buy the full version (which you should if your a serious web designer). While I prefer Allaire Homesite on a PC (I wish that Allaire would make a Mac version, PLEASE!) BBEdit is 95% as good, and I love using it when I work on a Mac.

than SimpleText, yet more complicated for the mere viewing of text files than Tex-Edit, so I keep both on hand. This is an excellent editor, though not perfect.

editor just got better. I use BBedit Light for cleaning up text files imported from other platforms, and this version is an amazing improvement over 4.6. Works great on OSX!

editor for the Mac, hands down. Pretty damn good for html editing too, even though I now use Golive for that. Now I mostly edit Q3 .cfg files with BBEdit :)

of software, but missing a vital feature: color coding for tags. If you can't live without this and like BBEdit Lite, you will love the just as free and slim but more powerfull MMKEdit. Search for it on Version Tracker.

believe how fast these people correct bugs in __free__ software. There are so many applications I've paid large sums & small sums of money for that let the bugs stay for __many__ months (and sometimes are never addressed). Thanks BBEdit!
