Nice but... - Version: 3.0.8, 2/16/2006 04:43PM PST

Great idea, nice implementation, but for a person that has lots of removable media to be kept track of, the AutoCat "catalog" gets really big - really fast!
I could see some one who'd use it for a limited number of disks full of frequently used stuff! The fact that it creates basically a folder full of aliases, makes it work great with spotlight!
Still does not work well

Even with version 3.0.8, folder contents are not displayed properly. Upon creating a new catalog, all contents are displayed as icon only. These icon are highlighted with a color. Upon selecting all of the items in a folder and turning off the color selection (through the CM), many of the application-related icons simply vanish, leaving one with nothing but the file name. This application simply does not have the flexibility and capability of the older pre-OSX version.
Until this is fixed, avoid this cat-dog of an application.
