ClamXav 2.0.4 works exceptionally quick.
Using it on a new MBP 15 2.66 with Snow 10.6.2 the new ClamXav flies.
I'd say it takes a third to a quarter of the time it use to, to scan a large file.
The definitions happen even faster & the Clam engine is also current, which is nice when looking for viruses.
This is refined software.

That worked and I apologise to all, I should have deleted those prefs earlier... too busy with other things and thoughts.

Scanning on PPC machine at the moment...

2.0.4 works brilliantly on 10.6.1 and is working on 10.6.2 as well. Detected a single (W32) worm Worm.Gibe.F-1 in a corrupted email database from a client machine.

Update - on the PPC (10.5.8 with todays security update) machine, so far 15 various W32 Worms and Trojans, all Win32 exe's and all in client machine backups!!!

Works well. Recommend.

Keep getting an "unexpectedly quit - error number 2". Then in the resultant crash, a long list, part of which follow. Note in this case Thread 4 crashed so I have only included that part.
This is on a PPC DP2.5GHz 10.5.8.
Alas I suspect use of a NULL pointer here...

2.0.3 says Staring update... Update Finished almost immediately without getting an update. And, just before that it (apparently) did an update but it took a very long time. Been using ClamXav for years without problems, now it's getting sketchy... what a shame..

Ok, so the problem with Rosetta being required is apparently due to a conflict with the version installed by Leopard Cache Cleaner. One solution is to install Clam with Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner, which seems to resolve the issue of the Rosetta Install prompt on 10.6...

Thanks goes out to the dev for the crash fixes (see what's new everybody). And no thanks goes out to all the apologists who tried to discount any of problems/crashes we were having... I love clamxav and mentioning bugs in a beta is a GOOD THING you jackasses. Thanks again for all the fixes dev!!! : )

This is the first version that works on my 13" MacBook Pro June, 2009. And it works well.

We use ClamXav on about 80 Macs an never had any problems. The new GUI is a big progress. Many thanks to the developer.
