X-Plane CommentaryCaution with 920rc2 for Mac - Version: 9.2rc2, 8/15/2008 04:49AM PST

pbjones
The first release of 920rc2 will crash on your Mac. A shame as this version builds on the generic instrument model which allows more flexibility for builders. Usual 'improvements' in the flight model etc. Also note that the plug-in system has been extended allowing more access to the internals of X-Plane. On the down side, most of the fly by keyboard stuff is gone. PPC vs. Intel networking does not work, so Old Macs can't network with newer Macs and PCs. Prefs have been moved to the 'Output' folder.

X-Plane CommentaryThis is another beta round - Version: 9.2b3, 7/6/2008 06:02PM PST

9.20 is where X-Plane 9 should have started. Continuous improvement in the flight model and some more long standing bugs, fixed. Remember that this is still a beta or Test version and things will change over the next few weeks. Don't download this version if you are a builder as there is a nasty bug in the panel editor.

If you have trouble contact info@x-plane.com or visit the x-plane.org forum. Rule number #1, delete the preference files.

I bought X-plane 8 one month before v9 beta was published and the guy wanted the full price (79$ and not 59!) for the next version, although he promises free updates for several years on his web site. The software might be a good sim, but the update policy makes it unrecommendable.
