Product Description:
VSamp is a software sample player for the Macintosh. It comprises: a program for creating and playing virtual instruments; a VST plugin for playing VSamp instruments from within a VST sequencer; and an AudioUnits plugin for playing VSamp instruments from within an AudioUnits sequencer.
- 128 voice polyphony.
- 24-bit / 192kHz support.
- Resonant lowpass filters with realtime control.
- Low frequency oscillators to modulate pitch and filters.
- A VST and AudioUnits plugin for playing VSamp instruments and banks from within Cubase, Logic, Garageband, Performer and other sequencers.
- Very stable and CPU-efficient sample player.
- Import SampleCell and SoundFont samples and keymaps.
- Support for MacOS X including CoreMIDI Services, VST and AudioUnits
What's new in this version:
- Added support for WAVE files
- Added support for 32-bit samples
- Banks now respond to MIDI bank and patch change messages
- Import SoundFont banks
- Instruments can now contain up to 1000 (variable) samples
- Banks can now contain up to 140 (variable) instruments
- Reduced CPU load removes need for “Economy mode”
- Optional new amplitude model for instruments adds constant dB pan, constant dB-rate envelopes (improves compatibility with SoundFonts) and greater variety of note velocity responses
- Minor interface changes including general speed increase and better onscreen keyboard
- Minor bug fixes

For continuing to update the OS 9 version. I have SO much invested in legacy hardware and software that I'm not likely to EVER upgrade my studio to G4, G5 or Intel. Kudo's. I use this software in almost every project for one thing or another

I use VSamp in OS X and NINE. In addition to my G4 I still use my 8500 and 9500 to run my for real OS NINE midi/audio applications. It's nice when a developper keeps the OS NINE versions up to date. I've been a registered user of VSamp ever since it first came out.

Besides sporting a horrid user interface, it now crashes a popular host sequencer on launch. Way to go.
