TC's billing categories dovetail replicate architectural project phases (I'm an architect), which makes it an excellent choice for creating invoices or transferring time/billing info to accounting software like AccountEdge or Quickbooks. Customized invoices with .pdf backgrounds are a great addition. I've used this software for 5 years and have complete confidence. Excellent reporting and analysis tools, which I particularly rely on when working on a fixed fee as far as my accounting software, but want to keep track of my hours per phase and overall hours on a given project.

Pandaware development is rigorous and support is first class.

I have used TimeCache for about 4 years now. It's so easy to use and takes the guesswork out of billing. You just set up the client, the project your working on and start timing. It has many reporting features. The most useful one, of course, is client reporting for invoicing. Reports export to Excel.

When I started using TimeCache, I found that it helped me stay on task better, it gave me confidence that my billing was indeed so many hours. I also use it to track my own performance.
