Product Description:

The Norton AntiVirus Virus Definition files are only compatible with versions of Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 6.0 and higher. This includes English, International Engish, German, French, Swedish and Japanese versions. For users of NAV 5.0.x, there are separate definition files available from Symantec's FTP site. We highly recommend that any versions of Symantec AntiVirus for Macintosh (SAM) or Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 5.0 be upgraded to Norton AntiVirus 6.0. The upgrade to version 6.0 is available from our Customer Service department (800-441-7234) and any authorized Symantec Software Resellers.

Am I missing something? Symantec seems to be updating their virus definition files every day. And this is for the Mac OS that isn't as susceptible to viruses. Could someone please explain the need for these daily updates?

This firmly attaches in endless locations on your hard drive, running in your background and slowing down and hampering al of your useful running processes. To remove it completely is actually easiest by WIPING your HD and starting from scratch . . . . and they call this ANTI-virus? LOL
