If you're serious about what your website is doing, check out Summary. It has great reports, and really helps you see what is going on with your site(s). The basic version allows you to monitor three sites, which is nice, although the configuration process is so modal it can be maddening. Fortunately, once you get it set up, you rarely have to re-configure. Also, while the basic version allows you to watch three websites, it is capable of downloading the log files only for one, so you have to do the other two manually. I bought a copy even though Earthlink provides "free" Urchin web log analysis.

We've used Summary for many years and are extremely pleased. The price is excellent, support superb, and the resulting reports are comprehensive.
If you need log analysis, you must try Summary. It truly deserves 5 stars in every category.

Easy to set up and provides a wide range of reports. I tried using Analog for awhile and just couldn't get the reports I really needed. This does the job, and for a reasonable fee. Very easy to install, too.

for years and it's great. I think I liked the overview page better when there was more info on that page, but the robot filtering is most welcome. One thing I'd love to see is "% of current visits" rather than % of current hits for browser usage, so I can cheer on Netscape 4's slow, steady decline.

I've been using it for years. Support is great and the enhancements keep coming. This software is simply the best in the types of reports it offers. MacStuff, I don't know what your problem is but I have the Pro version and it runs far more than 50 sets of domain reports. Accettura, you are right, Analog is free but then you get what you pay for (in my humble opinion Analog is a clearly inferior product - but it's free!). Save money on auto repair and gasoline - get a pogostick!

I see is that it does not support Squid log analysis. Squid is the most extensively used acelerator and caching server for apache. This is a huge oversight. Also does not support logs from load balanced web servers automatically. For smaller sites with vanilla Apache I am sure it is fine.

proficient analysis software around yet the 'overview' consolidates information for a report to no-techs. The visual presentation of the data leaves something to be desired but can be compensated for by using the spreadsheet output feature. The developer is responsive to concerns and does indeed deserve to be paid for his hard work. This is not a 1000 units per month product so each and every one of us 'paying customers' make a difference. An AppleEvent interface to Summary would be very welcome (provided it is done right) . An AE/AppleScript interface would enable Summary to be tied into other software that can provide Tufte quality visual presentation of this package's outstanding technical output. Someone once said that 'Presentation is Everything' and with regard to stats, this has never been more accurate.

top. The new version doesn't add much useful and cripples what were very good features. In any case, this is the FASTEST log analyzer around!!
FunnelWeb Analyser, recently released as freeware by its makers (Quest: http://www.quest.com/funnel_web_analyzer/ ) is a pro level app, that can be run happily from the CLI, or via a GUI and produces an incredible array of highly customisable reports in HTML or PDF format.
They are also of a quality that clients would leave on their coffee tables, they look so damn good!
Not bad for free!
