Product Description:

Fractals are a wonderful thing. So is shameless self-promotion. Combine the two and you have Subsume, your friendly neighborhood binary fractal screen saver. You see, the Subsume Technologies logo was not meant to be thought of as a static symbol. You wouldn't spend $250,000 for a top-notch creative design agency to come up with a graphical representation of subsumption without tutoring them in, among other things, the mathematical details of multi-dimensional iterative Boolean transforms, and neither would we. Instead, we did the logo ourselves and threw together this screen saver in hopes of getting across what the dynamic nature really is. We could also prattle on about how it relates to the philosophical underpinnings of the company, but it wouldn't be marketing anymore if we started to get meaningful.

What's new in this version:

  • Added a Progressive setting.

Subsume ReviewToo much CPU - Version: 2.3.0, 12/16/2003 08:15AM PST

mrtew
Screensavers don't have to max out the CPU. In fact many of the best ones don't use that much CPU and all, but this one keeps it at 100% just to draw uberboring squares. What's the point of saving the screen if the whole computer catches fire in fifteen minutes. I think there should be an unwritten rule that screensavers can't use more than 25% CPU on the average year old Mac, maximum.
