Product Description:

DVDRemaster is an utility for Mac OS X to recompress large DVDs so that they fit on standard DVD5 or video iPod. It can either copy an entire DVD and keep all tracks, copy the main feature only, or (in the Pro version) copy selected audio and video tracks only.

In demonstration mode. there is no limit on how long you can use it, or how much data can be recompressed, but the image will be crippled during 5 seconds every minutes.

What's new in this version:

  • Automatically include movie information: Easily locate and classify movies in your library using titles, genres and many others. Finding the movie you are looking for is now a piece of cake.
  • Prepare and execute multiple conversions: Never run out of movies to watch again. Prepare several conversion tasks ahead of time and let DVDRemaster execute them without supervision.
  • Easily navigate between chapters: It is easier than ever to find scenes in a movie on you iPod, iPod Touch or iPhone. Thanks to the new chapter markers, you can jump from one chapter to another.

When trying to use DVDR under Snow Leopard with FairMount 64-bit (which requires VLC 64-bit), DVDR repeatedly crashes.

DVDRemaster Commentary5.2.2 doesn't support my external burner - Version: 5.2.2, 10/8/2009 09:26AM PST

Be prepared to reinstall 5.2.1 when upgrading to 5.2.2. I have an external DVD burner because the internal superdrive failed long ago. When I started a burn with 5.2.2, it gave the message that my drive was not supported. It was not possible to select it over the superdrive, as it had been in 5.2.1.

Yes, there is Handbrake, but I prefer DVDRemaster, because it just does what I want with less hassle.

Most important though, the support is great! I encountered two bugs in the past months, and I provided them with the VIDEO_TS folder and a bug description, and within a few days they had fixed it.
