When trying to use DVDR under Snow Leopard with FairMount 64-bit (which requires VLC 64-bit), DVDR repeatedly crashes.

DVDRemaster Commentary5.2.2 doesn't support my external burner - Version: 5.2.2, 10/8/2009 09:26AM PST

Be prepared to reinstall 5.2.1 when upgrading to 5.2.2. I have an external DVD burner because the internal superdrive failed long ago. When I started a burn with 5.2.2, it gave the message that my drive was not supported. It was not possible to select it over the superdrive, as it had been in 5.2.1.

Yes, there is Handbrake, but I prefer DVDRemaster, because it just does what I want with less hassle.

Most important though, the support is great! I encountered two bugs in the past months, and I provided them with the VIDEO_TS folder and a bug description, and within a few days they had fixed it.

There are nowhere near as many controls for encoding videos as Handbrake. Particularly lacking are options for deinterlace/decomb and deblocking etc It also won't let me convert anything but DVD content (which Handbrake can). The remaster and extract options look like a good replacement for DVD2OneX and MacTheRipper. Some more encoding customisation and this would overtake handbrake as my encoder of choice.

DVDRemaster ReviewThe Best - Version: 4.4.3, 11/2/2008 03:54PM PST

This is such amazing software. It's also worth it to get the Pro version since you can do a lot more with it.

Nothing is better for encoding your iPod and/or AppleTV movies. Subtitles, different languages, removal of black bars, extraction of subtitles or the audio. plus it reencodes for DVDs and burns. It's easy, flexible, and stunning. Highly recommend it.

hi folks. i have VT Pro on a MacBook w OS 10.4.11
open VT and on the list it says that DVDRemaster v 4.4.1 can be upgraded to 4.4.3
the DL link and DL+Install buttons are active, as are the right click menu items
but no activity in the DL window when selected.
no mention of it in the log either
interesting .. the DL link in the inspector is dead. DL links for other products work in the inspector, but not DVDRemaster.

i went to the vendor site to do the upgrade

i think it is a dead link
