Product Description:

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System is one of the most powerful 16-bit consoles. The SNES used an extremely powerful graphics coprocessor able of generating real-time effects like scaling and transparency.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a bug which caused SNES9X to fail to load ROMs correctly if you changed the Interleave or Type fields in the "Open" or "Preferences" dialogs. (Only "Let SNES9X decide" was working properly.)
  • Fixed the "Game Genie" dialog.
  • I have not merged in changes from the PC 1.39a update yet, but this does not actually affect any well-known ROMs as far as I can see. These changes will be merged into the next update.
  • Some OS X users have reported difficulties using the controller configuration dialog after updating to 10.2. I did not write the HID Manager support code myself and have not had a chance to
  • Important note: Megaman X2 and X3 support (in other words, emulation of the C4 chip) is not Mac compatible. All the SNES9X C4 emulation code is written in raw Intel assembly and does not port over to the Mac at all. Unfortunately, I do not expect this situation to change any time in the near futur

I don't know if John Stiles is going to continue SNES9X development. But SNES9X Custom is much better with better video modes, better performance, it just needs a site in English and BETTER VERSIONING!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE TELL THEM TO USE 1.0, 1.1, ETC!! AND HAVE THE VERSION OF THEIR APP IN THE APP INFO!

The SNES9X Custom only being a subcategory in SNES9X info is a weird anomaly, haven't seen that anywhere else on VT. Deserves its own category.

Maybe John Stiles should just work with the SNES9X Custom people and they should merge efforts in to one app. much less confusing.
