Sharity ReviewWorks great! - Version: 3.2b3, 7/12/2006 11:30AM PST

Much better than Apple's built-in client (which gets the permissions all wrong) with our Windows Storage Server. The magic automounting behavior is pretty cool. Wish the GUI wouldn't minimize when you try to close it though, and were a bit more Mac-like.

Has anyone been using this app *lately*?

I'm thinking of using Sharity to keep from having to reconnect to the local windows shares every time my PB goes into deep sleep.

install) to 10.2. I like the built-in windows access, but it doesn't appear to allow connects to admin shares (c$, d$, etc). Perhaps there is a trick I don't know, but without it, I'll re-install Sharity. Sharity is an awesome application. Support on website is so-so, but I've always gotten quick replies to emailed questions.

user. Sharity is an outstanding product. But having run 10.2 for several days now, I wonder whether I need it anymore. Jaguar's access to Win servers is excellent.

the first time. Quick and easy way to connect to a Windows workstation. If you don't like the mounted servers piled up on your desktop, just turn off Show Mounted Servers in your Mac's Finder preferences. Another great tool from the people who brought us LaunchBar!

to make Sharity a preference pane in the System Preferences app? Having a separate app running adds a whole layer of confusion that is really unneccsary for most users. Sharity is a wonderful program, though, and will solve the basic Windows connectivity issues most users will have. I think its great software, minus the cumbersome application.

is a pretty and simple cross-platform solution, and - at least for educational networks (my case too) - it's free. DAVE 3.1 beta (tested) is of course better as allows Windows to MAC OS X inkjet printing (great achievement indeed, do not forget that MAC OS X still does not have USB printer sharing!).
