Product Description:
Savitar is a Mac OS X "MUD Client" application which allows you to play games and interact with people on internet MUDs, MOOs, Mucks, and MUVEs (Multi-user Virtual Environment) servers.
What's new in this version:
- The 'play' local command can now stream MP3, MP2, MP1, OGG, and AIF files
- Changed the "open text window" local command to accept unix-style paths (goodbye OS 9-style paths
- Fixed a potential crasher when closing a window
- Fixed bug in text windows. Horizontal scrolling now resets when text wrapping is turned off

I paid for this, but don't ask me why. Each of the three or four versions I have tried have been awful. The interface would have been bad on OS 8, and it crashes every time its closed. I use something else.

I really really want to love this product, and hope that someday I can. So far, I like the potential it shows. The publishers refusal to adapt a OSX UI is very annoying however. I had to chuckle when reading on his website that he is a cocoa/osx and ui professional, as this product doesn't show that at all. It seems like it has been thrown together with no regard whatsoever to the macintosh style. The menu items are oddly placed, and some of the important ones are oddly obscure in places a macintosh user would not expect to find them. There is no "New Trigger" button or menu item until AFTER you open the events window, making what could be an easy one click solution into a 3 or 4 step process. I am glad to see the new client "Atlantis" Under development so I have more then one to keep track of, and ultimately support totally.

There is some kind of crash bug that happens to me when I fresh boot it and open my main character (which has a huge pfile that takes several minutes to load in the start) and I attempt to use a macro (if you play the game you know what I'm talking about) but I'm in discussion with the author of this software and I'm sure it'll be worked out sooner or later.
If you play Alter Aeon (the first available list in the mud list when Savitar first boots, which I play because the old muds I used to play '91-'94 aren't around any more) I'm Axl. Get to know me, I need to run in groups so i can get group xp.
I also will be buying a copy when I get paid in a little over two weeks. I think it's $15. I'll have to check that.
