JMP CommentaryLong time user - Version: 8.0.2, 10/26/2009 07:40AM PST

I've been using JMP since 3.2. I also use SPSS, MPlus, R, Statview (alas its gone), and on and on. The JMP software has rapidly become my 'go to' package. JMP handles a variety of tasks very well. Easily handles plot manipulation and animated bubble plots that aren't readily available except in special purpose packages. Journalling in JMP is excellent and the scripting language is very good. Powerful and useful software.

I wish the bubble plots could be exported to a format other than Flash as Keynote and Quicktime don't play Flash any longer.

JMP CommentaryJMP 8 Promised for April 2009 - Version: 7.0.2, 12/4/2008 09:36AM PST

No they are not. It has been promised for <b>April 2009<b>.

A day late and a dollar short on keeping users informed, but better late than never I guess!

I must admit SAS's OS X development and release cycle and lack of communication to maintenance license holders is also starting to irk me. I find it hard to justify the cost. Still the best stats exploratory package out there, simply because the competition is so bad.

JMP CommentaryJMP pulling an SPSS? - Version: 7.0.2, 10/8/2008 06:33PM PST

Here we go again, SAS is leaving Mac users behind, we've already been stiffed with no 64 bit version (available for Windows & even Linux) but now JMP 9 is being released for Windows in November! They don't even bother to mention if they are even going to release it for the Mac.

Come on SAS if you want to truly innovate use the power of Xcode, give us a native 64 bit app and give us product that shines by using all the cores and the GPUs. I don't want that late to the event, dowdy Windozes duplication you've been overcharging for

Plan not renew the site license for this product...
