Product Description:
Print Therapy, previously known as Printer Setup Repair, is the only utility in the world designed to diagnose and repair problems that can occur with the Mac OS X printing system. These problems include, but are not limited to, the inability to open the Print & Fax System Preference pane, inabillity to add printers, disappearing print jobs, corrupted preference files, and inability to create PDF files. Print Therapy also includes some useful tools for deleting extra printer drivers, installing or deleting PPD files, deleting old spool files, backing up and restoring the printing system, and resetting the printing system.

- Backup and restore the printing system
- Verify and recreate the root user
- Verify and recreate the lp user
- Verify and recreate the lp group
- Verify and repair the printing system permissions
- Verify and repair the home user Library directories
- Reset the printing system
- Delete CUPS spool files
- Verify and repair the /private/tmp directory
- Stop, start, or restart the cupsd process
- Replace the cupsd.conf file
- Delete hidden temporary files
- Delete all printing preferences
- Delete the pre-installed drivers
- View the CUPS access_log file
- View the CUPS error_log file
- View the CUPS page_log file
What's new in this version:
- Fixed a bug that would cause permission repair errors to be reported for user accounts locked by FileVault.
- Fixed a bug that allowed the _usbmuxd system user to be included in the permission repair tests.
- Added several 10.5.8 compatibility updates that check to make sure certain code resource files are located in the correct directories, moving them if not.

Is Apple that busy that they put code signatures to wrong place? I was absolutely amazed that dozens of files were indeed at wrong place and print theraphy fixed it. Unfortunately, Mac blogs&support sites are busy with Snow Leopard so I didn't hear about it too.
Having no code signature is one thing (very common), having a tampered (in OS eyes) code signature is another. It would really matter in case you granted access to your printer application in Leopard firewall...
Anyway, thanks to this expensive (!) utility, I am aware of it and first time in my life, I am off to download&reinstall Leopard 'combo' update 10.5.8. Who knows what else they missed?
ps: Don't let 'repair permissions' fool you, OS X doesn't touch a bit of home permissions which really matters to Printers and pro apps like Adobe stuff. It is not the same as the OS X permission repair.

Please, Apple charges $29 for Snow Leopard and you charge almost that much to "supposedly" fix some printer issue? An issue I've never seen personally but regardless, your price is out of whack. You even cost more than tools like GraphicConverter that some of us use every day! Sorry!

I did have one installation question and the good folks over at the developer company were happy to help me on an individual basis. No group sessions for me. I may still suffer with post traumatic stress disorder but my printers work great.
