Product Description:

PowerGlot is an easy to use tool for software localization. It brings the ease of use of the Mac OS to developers willing to make their product available in the native languages of their users worldwide. PowerGlot extracts the text from your applications, lets you translate it, then builds the localized applications for you, all this with a friendly user interface.

PowerGlot supports Mac OS 8/9 applications and Mac OS X applications.

For improved automation, PowerGlot is scriptable (several scripts and AppleScript Studio applications are provided along with their source code).

What's new in this version:

  • Glossary Importer now supports Apple's XML dictionaries (.ad files)
  • When importing a glossary, the Glossary Importer now performs a duplicate entry removal pass.
  • When localizing a .nib file, PowerGlot now automatically deletes the temporary backup files (~.nib) generated by nibtool.
  • AppleScript: added a 'update vers resources to' property allowing to programmatically set the region code to update 'vers' resources to.
  • Improved error reporting when problems occur during the file copy phase of the localization process.
  • Adding files to the database (using drag-and-drop or the Works Files window) has been reworked to better handle packages, simple folders and single files.
  • Fixed printing which was not working at all in the Database window
  • Fixed display problem with some text fields which were disappearing when a window became inactive (in Preferences and Database Settings dialogs)
  • Fixed issue with current keyboard layout not switching to the appropriate language when entering a source or translated field.
  • Fixed an issue with the configurable nibtool command line where a replaceable argument like TARGETFILE would not see all its instances replaced in the command line with the actual file name if it appeared more than once.
  • Fixed an AppleScript issue where a script couldn't set the source language for a glossary.
  • Fixed an AppleScript recording issue where changing the target language's font would record a 'set source font' instead.
  • Fixed remaining issues with long file names during the localization process.
  • When performing a "Find Next", don't leave the current edit field.

Simply not usable. Is there any alternative? AppleGlot seems to be not very intuitive either.
